Candice's grandmother tried to solve a mystery 10 years ago and it totally backfired on her. Now her grandmother is dead and Candice and her mother are spending the summer in her house. When Candice finds the letter that started the mystery in the first place she decides to solve it herself and mend her grandmother's reputation - and the money would be nice too. With the help of a new friend Brandon and inspiration from classic puzzles and mysteries like The Westing Game, Candice and Brandon search into what really happened in Lambert 60 years earlier and why James Parker was leaving an inheritance to the town.
I loved the characters, the history, the nuances. This was very clever and rich.
