Many years ago a door was opened and creatures came through the rift and got a taste for human blood. Ever since then Bavar's family have been in charge of creating and maintaining a barrier to protect humanity and to fight these monsters. But Bavar's parents became too interested in the fight and forgot the barrier and as a result people died. Bavar's parents left to fight and left Bavar alone with his aunt and uncle to try and hold the barrier and learn to fight. But Bavar does not want to become like his parents. Until he meets Angel. Angel whose parents died because of his parents' neglect. Can they two of them figure out how to close the rift?
Good fantasy, action, adventure, a bit of a Beauty and the Beast take. I liked this one.
