Frances is different - she is smart, quirky, likes to spend time outdoors on her rocks, her best friend is her bus driver - but she likes it that way, she likes to be alone. But when does alone become lonely? If she's honest she misses her sister and she's uncomfortable being the smartest in class (until she isn't and then that's uncomfortable too). When she loses her best friend Frances needs to take stock of her relationships.
This is a really quiet book. There will be some who will gravitate towards its sweetness. Frances was a really nice character who learned a lot.
