Wavie's mom died before preparations could be made so Wavie expects to be put into foster care. When along comes a long lost aunt who agrees to take her in out of the kindness of her heart. Wavie finds herself in Connolly Holler with a horrible aunt, a disable uncle, a rotten cousin and surrounded by poverty. But in the midst of it all Wavie finds friends and a mystery and hope. Will Wavie live out her days in the Holler or will a failed adoption from 11 years ago be her way out.
There was a lot to like about this book - friendship, mystery, hope. I think the aunt was a bit overdone but overall I liked it.
