Kidnapped at the Icefall

I was very pleasantly surprised by this.  For a short novella it packed a lot of punch.  Tak's dad is an experienced climber and while Tak wants to be successful at climbing he struggles with his fears.  But when his mom is kidnapped to prevent his dad from competing in an Everest competition, Tak and 2 friends try to rescue her.  This involves multiple climbs and facing his fears.

Fun and potentially good for struggling readers.  Because it is independently published it might be hard to actually get into the hands of many students.
