So most of my reviews on this blog are for children's books or YA books because that is my primary audience. This book however is Christian fiction. I got the book off NetGalley because I had read another book about the author about Queen Esther and I was intrigued. I mean, a novel about Jezebel? Sounded good.
I read the ebook on the train from NYC to Orlando, FL. It didn't take my the whole time cause wow, that was a long trip. I may have mentioned before that I really don't like ebooks, especially on my laptop so that may have affected my reaction to the book. I liked the beginning okay but I really didn't feel like I connected to the characters at all. Maybe it was that I already knew a lot about Jezebel and what was going to happen. I had a hard time with the going back and forth from Jezebel, to Ahab, and then Obadiah. It just didn't really work for me. There were some parts I enjoyed and I did like the historical background to the story from the Bible. I thought the ending was really abrupt...ending with Ahab's death and not continuing to Jezebel's death.
I did look at the author's website and it looks like this book is a prequel for another book so maybe there is more in that book. I may have to check it out.
