Wings & Company: Operation Bunny

This book had a Roald Dahl / Lemony Snicket feel.  Emily is an orphan taken in by a well to do family.  But, she is not what they expected and when the couple has triplets of their own, Emily is relegated  to maid status.  In time, she meets the elderly neighbor next door and her mysterious talking cat.  The neighbor takes an interest in Emily and helps her out and also teaches her to read and other languages.  One day Emily discovers some keys that respond to her touch.  From then on her life is in peril because an evil witch would love to get a hold of the keys.  Emily must defeat the witch and rescue her sisters and others who are harmed by the witch.

This was a light tale - a cute mystery and funny.  For my younger readers I think this will be a hit especially if I can get more in the series.  I felt it was a little slow going at first but then got better.
