In the near future an ice age has struck. No ones knows what is causing it or how to stop it. Eleanor's mother is a scientist working on discovering alternate sources or energy. She is working in Alaska and suddenly sends Eleanor some cryptic messages and documents and then disappears. Eleanor decides to travel on her own to Alaska to find her mother. Once there they discover a reality stranger than they thought - humans from a much earlier time, a wooly mammoth, and a device that may be from another planet.
I enjoyed this book quite a bit. The first 100 or so pages flew by, I did feel that it dragged a bit in the middle, and then picked up at the end. This is the first book in a new series - The Dark Gravity Series.
