The Question of Miracles
Iris and her family have just moved to Oregon to start a new life on a homestead. Iris makes a friend Boris and finds out that his life is considered a miracle. But Iris wonders why Boris got amiracle and her friend Sarah, who died, did not.
There is not a lot of action to this book. We see Iris and Boris learning to be friends, we see Iris trying to connect with Sarah and come to terms with her death, and we see Iris learning tolive in Oregon. By the end she does seem to realize that miracles are all around us if we look but that bad things happen as well.
I enjoyed the story but I am not sure if there is enough there for most of my students.
