Powerful, powerful true story of Alton Carter. Alton's life was messed up. 4 siblings, all with different fathers, mom using perscription meds to cope, abusive stepfather, living with grandparents and abusive uncles, and finallyput intothe foster care system which wasn'tmuch better. Alton tells his story very honestly and yet there is always hope and his determination to rise above the circumstances and better his life. I can see a lotof students who would benefit from a book like this.
My one complaint is the text size and overall presentation. It would have been better with a larger font and a bit more white space.
