Marten's brother Aldrin annoys him. On a trip to Texas, while watching a meteor shower Marten wishes his brother didn't exist. Then the next day Aldrin disappears right before his eyes. Fortunately, Tor, shows up with an ability to go back and forth in time. With Tor's help Marten sees the results of his wish and that you don't always know what you are wishing for.
This was a bit confusing in places - time travel usually is - and I was a little unclear about how his mom's wish played out and how it got changed. I did like it though - it was short enough that kids might give it a go.
