Red is a foster kid who hates where she is living.  She decides to run away but a police officer catches her and is about to take her to a facility when an alien spaceship arrives and takes the cop car as a souvenier with Red inside.  After the ship she is on is attacked, Red and other alien specimans are forced to crash land on another planet.  There they meet the caretaker of the planet and some other interesting life forms.  They soon realize that they are all meant to be part of a museum.  At the end of the book they are starting to come together to create a home.

A cute premise and interesting introduction.  What bothers me the most is that the story is just really starting.  I think I would wait for the next book at least before buying this one.
