Told in alternating chapters we have the story of Perdita, a water sprite who got left behind when the other water sprites traveled to a new world. Bitterness has consumed her and infected the waters where she remains. Luna lives in the now swampy area and when her sisters ingests some of the water and becomes ill Luna will stop at nothing to find a cure or an end to the curse.
It took me a while to get into - even though it is only 150 pages. I did like the ending.
