Steering Toward Normal
Diggy is looking forward to training his new steer and enjoying time with his "pop" but then Wayne is unexpectedly dropped at his doorstep and it turns out Wayne is his half brother. What ensues is a year of turmoil, changes, growing up, training, and discovery.
I found the book to be very good and believable. The characters of Diggy, Wayne, and Pop were done well. I didn't feel the secondary characters were developed as well. I can see this book going over well in rural areas where 4H and county/state fairs are more prevalent. This is out of my realm and the students in my district are more urban. I don't think this will be a book I purchase but I thought it was good.
