Paper Hearts
Interesting Holocaust book told in verse. It follows the lives of Zlatka and Fania whose paths cross in Aushwitz. The two girls along with several others becomefriends and help each other survive. The primary inspiration for the story was the paper heart that Zlatka made for Fania. Fania kept the heart that was signed by some of their friends all throughout their time in Aushwitz, the death marches, and beyond.
The story was well done, some beautiful verse, and the heart aspect was touching and beautiful.I agree with other reviewers that haveing both Zlatka and Fania narrate was a bit confusing at times, but overall a good book.
