Christopher, his best friend Elena, and their families have joined an expedition to Perses to mine for resources that Earth desperately needs. But when a blackout of communication between Earth and Perses occurs, Perses comes under attack. Now the few survivors are hiding underground trying to survive until they can find a beacon and contact Earth.
The book started off strong but I felt it lagged a bit in the middle before picking up more in the end. I wish there had been more about the code left by Christopher's dad. There will be a sequel and there was a bit of a hanging ending. Good action, sci-fi fun.
