Callum's mom died during a war and when his father found Call, as an infant, nearby there was a message "Kill the Child". Fast forward 12 years and Call has been called upon to participate in The Iron Trial where apprentices will be chosen to train as mages at the Magisterium. Call's father want him to fail miserably and stay far away from magic. But, even though Call is pathetic at the trial, he is still taken on as a mage. At the Magisterium he begins to learn to control his magic with his two teammates, Aaron and Tamara. But things are not as they seem...
This story was a lot of fun...reminiscent of Harry Potter. There was some good action, good characters, and some wonderful twists. Loved it!!!
