Joshua is a boy growing up in the 1970s in South Africa. It tells about life for the native people and apartheid. I found the first 2/3s of the book informative and engaging but once Joshua had to leave the house where his mom worked it got confusing and seemed rushed. The setting changed 2 or 3 times after that and the book seemed to lose its focus.
