This coming of age story focuses on Ivy. It starts in the summer when her best friend goes off to camp and Ivy isn't really sure what to do with herself. She wants to buy her best friend a ring to try and preserve their friendship so she decides to start a pet care business. The book focuses on her different experiences with the business, her dealings with the boys next door, the changing friendships, and Ivy's discovery of what she really wants to do with her life. It was a quiet book but well done.
