Gail Jarrow is back with another nonfiction book about a deadly illness. This time she takes on the Bubonic Plague. While early chapters touch on the plague and Black Death in the Middle Ages, the bulk of the book focuses on when Bubonic Plague came to America in Hawaii and California. The book follows the timeline of the illness, research into causes and preventative measures. I was not aware that there are still cases of it. Glad I live in Maine - her map of known cases in the last 40 years have nothing here ;0 A very informative book.
