The Disappearance of Emily H
Raine has the unique ability to read people's memories by sensing and capturing sparks that she can see. Her attraction to these sparks causes her to seem a bit weird to her friends. To top it off her mother has the habit of moving anytime things falls apart and so Raine finds herself in a new school again.
Raine quickly draws the attention of the mean girls and starts getting bullied pretty badly. She also finds out that the house she lives in was the home of Emily H. - a girl who disappeared 6 weeks ago and is presumed dead.
During the book Raine navigates through the bullying, friendships, relationships, and then a mysterious arsonist and Emily's disappearance converge into a thrilling conclusion.
I enjoyed the book quite a bit. Good length, good tension. I think it has enough creep factor without going too far and my students would probably like it...
