This was a really interesting book - especially because it was told in graphic novel format. My only concern is that due to the graphic novel format students won't take it seriously. My students are used to graphic novel violence and comic book violence but this is real. This is the author's account of what actually happened to him. I also worry a bit about the references - albeit brief - of child soldiers being sexually abused. This concern is mostly in light of my particular students and not toward the audience of the book as a whole.
