The Eleventh Trade

After the death of most of his family in Afghanistan, Sami and his grandfather have made their way to Boston.  They do not have much - some clothes, a bit of money from relief agencies, and his grandfather's rebab - a traditional instrument that his grandfather played professional but now plays in the T stations for money.  One day, while playing the instrument himself, the rebab is stolen right out of his hands.  Sami is able to locate it in a pawnshop but must pay $700 to get it back.  How?  Sami's idea is to trade items for it.  Can Sami make enough money to get the rebab back?

This was really good.  You not only have the conflict and anticipation of getting the instrument back but also Sami's adjustment to life in America and making new friends.
