Rosi has grown up in Fredtown with her Fredmom and Freddad. She knows they aren't her real parents but they love her all the same. Someday, when it is safe, she will be returned to her real parents. But for now she is safe, loved, and happy.
But then, unexpectedly, all the children in Fredtown are told they are being sent home. But the transition is scary and even violent and Rosi can sense something is wrong right away. Her parents don't even seem to want her. And where are the other children - the ones that would be slightly older than her?
In typical Haddix style this is full of action and has twists and turns. Loved it!!!
