I liked this one ;0 Feo and her mom take in wolves cast off from their aristocratic owners and try to make them wild again so they can survive. But, the Russians are afraid of the wolves and of Feo and her mom - especially General Rakov. Rakov threatens Feo and her mom telling them to kill the wolves, but they can't comply. So Rakov burns their house down and arrests Feo's mom. With the help of a former soldier, a young agitator, and an army of children, Feo sets out to rescue her mother and defeat Rakov.
This book had a lot of action and good interplay between Feo and the wolves and Feo and Ilya. It was interesting to read about wolf wilders and Russia at the time of the Revolution.
